AIMEN and Tekniker bring together European leaders from the aeronautical sector to discuss sustainable manufacturing

The event, to be held today and tomorrow in Galicia, will address the industry’s challenges and opportunities with regard to sustainability, digitisation and advanced manufacturing and will be attended by experts from leading companies such as Airbus, GKN Aerospace and Collins Aerospace under the umbrella of two European projects, ECOAERO and SURE 5.0.

Both today and tomorrow, the AMEN Technology centre and Tekniker will host an international event called “Advanced manufacturing technologies for a more sustainable & resilient aviation” focused on advanced manufacturing technologies applied to the aeronautical sector. The conference will not only bring together leading companies like Airbus, Aernnova, Aciturri, GKN Aerospace, Collins Aerospace or CDTI, but will also attract a number of European technology centres and organisations leaders in innovation.

Although the main challenges the sector is currently facing with regard to sustainability, digitisation and resilience will be addressed, special attention will be given to the progress made in terms of materials, additive manufacturing and propulsion systems powered by hydrogen.

The event, which falls within the framework of two European projects called ECOAERO (led by Tekniker) and SURE 5.0, is focused on the role played by SMEs with regard to how the sector can be transformed.

The sessions will feature panel discussions, technical visits and networking spaces set up to further cooperation throughout Europea.
