IK4-TEKNIKER will display its capabilities in terms collaborative robotics at the 3rd edition of Basque Industry 4.0

The technology centre will showcase a prototype of collaborative robotics designed to operate with people at the IK4 booth.
IK4-TEKNIKER, the Basque Technology Centre, will be present tomorrow at the 3rd edition of the Basque Industry 4.0 event to display its capabilities in terms of collaborative robotics by showing a prototype designed to interact with people in manufacturing environments.
The organisation will be present at the IK4 booth, where visitors will be able to interact with a prototype featuring machine tools to develop applications that are modular, flexible, efficient and safe in real production scenarios.
The development designed by the technology centre is supported by recent breakthroughs in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) used to detect the physical presence of people, recognise objects, read gestures and generate trajectories dynamically.
The prototype forms part of what IK4-TEKNIKER is currently offering in the field of collaborative robotics, a key discipline needed to boost the so-called Industry 4.0 approach, i.e., the new industrial manufacturing paradigm that is based on incorporating ICTs into production environments for the ultimate purpose of building smart factories.
Thanks to its long-standing track record with regard to developing advanced solutions, both in the field of industrial robotics and advanced manufacturing, the technology centre is nowadays a benchmark as regards researching and designing a new generation of smart and autonomous robots.
To this end, IK4-TEKNIKER is looking for solutions to design robotic solutions that can obtain data supplied by sensors and process the information received efficiently to produce a behaviour that is more intelligent and better adapted to meet the operating requirements of a collaborative environment.
Basque Industry 4.0, looking to the future
The Basque Industry 4.0 event to be held tomorrow at the Kursaal Conference Centre in Donostia-San Sebastián intends to further discussions and foster an exchange of views on the impact produced by using ICTs in today’s industrial processes.
The seminar will provide a meeting point for Basque companies already operating in the industrial sector as well as a forum for discussion on the digitisation of manufacturing processes through a programme featuring workshops, exhibitions, lectures and success stories related to the implementation of a range of technologies linked to the activities of our industrial fabric.
The seminar, organised by SPRI, the Basque Government’s Agency for Business Development, will explore the Fourth Industrial Revolution in great depth by focusing on sophisticated techniques such as additive manufacturing, augmented reality, big data or cybersecurity.
