The topography of a surface influences the differentiation and proliferation of the cells in contact with it.

While it is known that this effect occurs, the relation between dimensions, shapes and the distribution of the texture of a surface and the effect on different types of cells is not.

By manufacturing surfaces with different textures and using in vitro techniques, the geometric aspects of such structures affect the viability of cell differentiation and proliferation could be found and studied.
