Bizkaia Aretoa (EHU), Bilbao
Tekniker and the University of the Basque Country (EHU) are to jointly organise a seminar to commemorate the International Year of Quantum Technologies that will bring together institutional representatives, researchers and leading companies dealing with quantum hardware, computing or quantum sensorics.
The meeting, to be held at Bizkaia Aretoa in Bilbao, will attract experts from companies such as Multiverse Computing, Quantum Motion Spain or Qubiz.team. The scientific director of the Basque Quantum Strategy, Javier Aizpurua will be in attendance together with Aitor Bergara, Director of the EHU Quantum Institute and researchers from the EHU Quantum Center and Tekniker.
The morning session will address the role currently played by the Basque Country in the deployment of this new technological revolution as well as the opportunities offered by quantum technologies in fields such artificial intelligence, advanced detection devices and the demands associated with these technologies in terms of properties, texturing and the development of precision components.
The programme will feature lectures and a panel discussion during which experts will discuss challenges and opportunities associated with quantum technologies.
The seminar is aimed at students, teachers and companies interested in learning more about the transformative potential of quantum technologies and their impact on the Basque Country’s scientific, technological and industrial fabric.

About the Aula EHU Gela
This is a space that promotes collaboration between EHU and Tekniker through the development of doctoral theses, master’s or bachelor’s final projects, as well as joint participation in research projects. These activities give rise to publications and patents collaboratively developed by researchers from both institutions.
The Aula EHU Gela also carries out joint outreach activities aimed at both professionals and society at large, through the organization of international conferences and technology-focused events on topics of great interest.
