We are looking for a researcher to join a predoctoral project whose aim is to develop catalysts based on nanoparticles synthesised by magnetron sputtering.

The doctoral process itself will focus on the study and development of inorganic nanoparticles with catalytic activity to be synthesised by means of an innovative technology based on vapour phase physical deposition (magnetron sputtering).

This technology makes it possible to synthesise any type of inorganic nanoparticles whether they be pure or present in alloys or core shell structures and incorporate exhaustive monitoring of composition, geometry, size and crystalline structures.

This project forms part of IK4-TEKNIKER’s research area covering Surface Engineering to be codirected and supported by the research team of the unit dealing with Materials and Surface Physics.

This position is open to anybody meeting the following requirements:

• Holders of a recent degree in Materials or Physical Sciences or Chemistry at a Master’s level with access to doctoral studies
• A command of advanced English, both spoken and written
• Any knowledge related to subject matters beyond regular degree contents will be considered relevant
• Having a vocation focused on research activities, resourcefulness and problem- solving skills
