TEKNIKER has been working closely with the machine tool sector since the mid eighties.
Right from those early days, the centre has played a central role in most of the innovative initiatives involving machine companies.
The following major breakthroughs are proof of this:
TEKNIKER's support for the machine-tool sector has been and continues to be based on an integral approach and proven knowledge (accumulated through their participation in the most important partnership research projects in Spain and in Europe) of the processes (high-speed, dry, unassisted or precision machining, or using a minimum amount of cooling fluid, machining hard materials...). It now provides an open door to the most innovative processes (non-conventional, hybrid...), which allows the companies to undertake the competitive manufacturing of practically any workpiece in any type of material.
TEKNIKER is currently a partner in some of the most important projects being undertaken by the sector:
The CENIT project in Spain: "eEe", technologies in ecology, high precision and productivity, multi-functionality and information technologies and machine-tool communications", where TEKNIKER is the research entity subcontracted by no less than 17 companies.
The NMP integrated project in Europe: "NEXT, next generation production systems," where TEKNIKER plays a prominent role, within the "hard core" of the consortium.
In the future, TEKNIKER is ensured of a cutting edge place thanks to its work with "MANUFUTURE", "Manufacturing" state and European platforms", along with its involvement in the Cooperative Research Centre in High Performance Manufacturing where machining is considered to be an integral service and solution provider, where the machine and the associated process are taken into account.
The base technologies that are offered to companies are:
