NEW TOOL DESIGNED TO IMPROVE SUSTAINABILITY IN THE CEMENT INDUSTRY

This application offers the possibility of evaluating the environmental and economic impact generated during the most critical process in the manufacture of cement, which involves the rotary kiln.

 

It enables the user not only to find out the environmental impact and costs associated with this process, but also to simulate and analyse the environmental impact and costs that would be generated when the percentages of the different raw materials, or combustible materials are modified, or when a new clean-up system, etc. is incorporated. So this is not only a tool for evaluating the environmental and economic impact, it is also an application designed to assist in the decision making.

Tekniker-IK4s participation has consisted of conducting the process to design and develop the tool, including the simulation models and life-cycle analysis.
