IK4-TEKNIKER is to collaborate and participate for the third time in the IFAC - A-MEST’ conference on industrial maintenance.

Nowadays, industrial maintenance does not only focus on including state-of-the-art know associated with industrial maintenance. It also seeks to develop a global focus from the point of view of service and product engineering and encompasses aspects such as diagnostics, prognostics, reliability, life cycle management, etc., issues that maintenance assets must address in terms of competitive manufacturing.

It is within this context that IK4-TEKNIKER is participating and collaborating in the organisation of the 3rd IFAC Workshop on Advanced Maintenance Engineering, Services and Technology (A-MEST’ 16) dealing with how to upgrade industrial maintenance activity performance. The event will be held in Biarritz from October 19 to 21 2016.

IK4-TEKNIKER, in addition to forming part of the organising committee and to having participated in this conference on previous occasions, will deliver a presentation at this edition on the implementation of condition monitoring and predictive maintenance programmes at OEMs that allow equipment manufacturers to implement service-based business models.

The conference

It will be third time this event is to be held after A-MEST’ 12 in Seville and A-MEST’ 10 in Lisbon. It is organised by the work team of the same name, AMEST (Advanced Maintenance Engineering, Service & Technology) that forms part of IFAC (International Federation of Automation and Control).

The purpose of this conference is to bring together industrial researchers and professionals to exchange experiences and present an overview of the progress made in the field of maintenance in addition to addressing the challenges related to improving plant performance.

Over these three days, discussions will focus on issues such as maintenance strategies, maintenance services, diagnostics, prognostics, decision making, asset management and maintenance, e-maintenance and emerging technologies, condition monitoring and sensors, among others.
