Precision Engineering at TEKNIKER is a line of work that covers the development of high-precision mechatronic systems. It includes all aspects related with the research, design, manufacture, verification and application of high-precision systems.
The work rests on the principles of precision design and applies them optimally for each of the developments carried out. Among these principles we should underline the importance of the correct application of tools and the error budget to evaluate the aptitude of preliminary designs, solutions such as kinematic and isostatic design of slides and structures, as well as metrological frameworks, while attempting to respect the principles of alignment of Abbe and Bryan.
Our work also attempts to define the capacities and limitations of the components making up the systems developed, such as the guideway systems, drives, measurement systems and the different structural solutions and materials, as well as the generation and acquisition of knowledge and experience in innovative areas such as flexible guideways.
We also take an all-embracing approach to the field of measurement and dimensional verification by dealing with aspects of the science of metrology itself, including the development of methodologies, evaluation of uncertainties and solutions to guarantee traceability, to aspects relating to the development of technologies for measurement systems and activities to transfer them to industry as projects for the development of comprehensive solutions and specific metrological equipment.
