Electrical industry has suffered great changes during the last years. The liberalization of the electrical market, managers´ changes, the competition between electrical companies, the necessity to return to the shareholder an attractive and satisfactory benefit, etcetera, have had as consequence an important reduction of the investments in maintenance and equipment renovation. The case of the United States is paradigmatic and perfectly comparable to Spain. Transformers with 1,000 GVA installed are more than 25 years old.

Therefore, it becomes precise to optimize the resources: human, materials,... dedicated to the transformers maintenance.

TEKNIKER Foundation and Alfonso de Pablo, conscious of this necessity, organize this Technical Meeting on "New technologies in electrical transformers maintenance" in order to serve as experiences´exchange and knowledge, about the most modern technologies, between the most famous national and international experts and all those who have responsibilities in transformers maintenance at national and international level.

The subjects that we will discuss are the present technologies in transformers design and manufacture of the insulating oil, fundamental component for its good operation. We will know the new concepts in maintenance techniques that allow to optimize the economic resources and the quality of the diagnosis of the transformer condition, the new technologies for on on-line control of the transformer condition and, of course, will not forget the last advances related to corrosive sulfur and its problems.
